Welcome letter
Dear CMW Friend,
WELCOME! We are glad that we finally found each other!
As soon as we verify some information from you, you will have full access to our Friends website, receive e-mails from other members and updates on our progress. There are a few things that you must do to get the wagon rolling:
1. Log on to http://groups.yahoo.com/group/cmwfriends/.
2. Follow the directions as they appear. We are using Yahoo groups as our host, so you will need a yahoo user name. Not to worry - it is a free service and a great place for exchanging CMW Friends e-mail!
3. You will have to be approved by the moderators. Please make sure that you include your Real Name, Camp Name, and who referred you to our website or affiliation with Camp Mary White. Otherwise it will slow the approval process down. We have had problems in the past with unwelcome visitors sending unsolicited e-mails.
4. If you do not have access to a computer, then please respond to the return address with the same information listed above and also include your mailing address, phone number if you would like to provide one, and years that you were at camp. Within a couple of weeks after receiving sending your information you will receive a packet via “snail mail” with all kinds of information for your reading enjoyment!
Now for some other exciting news! When you get approved for the website, there is a host of information waiting for you! We have several databases for camp songs, favorite foods, what camp means to me, where are they now, and a membership directory. All of this information is updated on a regular basis so you will need to check it often. There are several files set up that contain our Articles of Incorporation, Committees, etc.
You can chat with long lost friends in our chat room or post a message on our message board that will be sent out to EVERYONE who has an email address listed! You wil be able to read the history of our deliberations, volunteer for committees/events and, if you wish, sign up to be a voting member. The fun never stops! So please visit, grab a cup of hot chocolate, relax and tell us all about your fond memories of camp!
We look forward to hearing from you and all of your stories that you have concerning our camp! Together we will bring the magic of camp back for future generations to enjoy!
